Considering a long range tank. Haven't decided for sure what size yet. If you have one, have you ever had a rock or berm hit it or dent it while wheeling?

Hey Desmo - Is your tank a 24 or 42 gallon? Looks larger than a 24. Trying to make up my mind on the two. Thanks!I had the same concern when I installed the 28 gallon aux tank, so I had a heavy aluminum sheet bent and installed by Ryan at OTRAMM onto mine as an extra layer of protection.
I haven’t had mine installed for very long, however I put It to the test in Moab, particularly Kane Creek, it looks like it helped in a spot or 2!

I too have noticed that my 24 gallon tank holds more than 24 gallons. I haven't put 28 in, but hit 26 regularly.I have the 24, however it will hold more fuel than 24 gallons and I have never topped off etc. it consistently cuts off at 28 and I proceed to fill the regular 22 gallon stock tank.
Has anyone else put ~28 gallons in their's?
I haven't done a side by side comparation to other's, but comparing the pictures to other 24's I thought they looked the same in terms of how far it hangs down etc.
The 42 hung down way too far for me, I still do trail's and am yet to find any disadvantage with the small tank. I do try to run it as empty as possible on the trail just to minimize weight.
