has anybody mounted battery sideways? (1 Viewer)

Due to space constraints, I am investigating the option of mounting dual batteries on their sides to accomodate both of them in the stock location. Does anybody have experience doing this?

Gel cell batteries, no problems....I haven't, but lots of methods for it....

Thoretically it should work with Optimas.

Two Odyssey PC925MJT's fit perfect. The next size up Odyssey will also fit w/ some mod to the tray; I forgot whose done this on the forum. I don't have any pics yet, still working on the project.

You just need to fold down the side lips on the tray or use another tray to do it with most any small battery of, I think, group 35. The gellcells will probably give the best output in those sized batteries.

i have to mount mine in my 68 40 sideways as it mounts under the seat and the top posts would hit the bottom of the seat (all metal...)
