I'm looking at tires again & the Hankook MT's are coming in highly praised.

Was thinking ab going with Nitto Trail Grapplers or Toyo MT's, but the Hankooks are getting great publicity & come 20% less $.

295-75-16 is the size

Anyone run them or have buddies who do?

Pics?

Btw I'm in Houston TX so I don't rock crawl. & I have no clue what snow or ice looks like.

Just water, mud & sand

I ran them in that size on my 80 for several years. They wore great - had +22k on them and at least that much more left. I considered them an aggressive all-terrain, they were not great in mud but for general trails, light rocks, the NC beaches, and onroad they were perfectly fine. They balanced with modest weight and stayed true while I had the 80, and wore evenly. Noise level was not bad at all, wife never complained......

I was so happy with them that I got their Dynapro ATm's on my GX in 255/75R17, and they have been great so far (only about 6k mi on them). IMHO these tires are underrated esp considering $$$ vs the more popular brands.

Do you want info on the Hankook MT's or AT's?

Oops lol the MT's.

AT's aren't aggressive enough down here.

Any pics???

There are two of us in the club with the MT in that size on our 80's. They've got about the same miles on them at approx 18k. We both have noticed that about 3k miles ago they started wearing much more rapidly. Like going from 70+% to under 50%. 95% paved road driving, I'd say.

Mine have been great in the red clay mud, rocks, sand and gravel that we have here. I think they handle well on pavement, wet or dry. They don't like ice and slush because there's no siping. Probably not an issue for you.

They flex well for me at 15-18psi in the rocks. Had them down to 12psi. I started to get some slight chunking last time out when the rocks were wet. Sidewalls have held up great. The wife had them in the rocks in the mountains at full pressure (lots of sharp, jagged shale-type stuff) and they finally got their first cuts. They're mostly shallow slices that I'm not worried about.

There is definitely some noise but I've heard much worse. Noise is getting worse as they wear.

I will definitely consider them again for the price but I'm starting to think more practical for the next set. We don't get much snow here but we can get terrible ice storms and my neighborhood is hilly and shaded all winter. No city help, either. Something with siping will help.
