The 99 is just bought continues to be full of fun surprises :)

At some point, the cable popped off of the handbrake mechanism. The cable is fine. I think it came off from the previous owner dropping about 15 pens, chapstick, about $10 in change and lots of other items down in there.

I took the console off and cleaned everything up. I took the 2 bolts out that hold the handbrake down and put the cable back where it goes but now i cant bolt it back down because theres not enough slack in the line. Whats the best way to go about fixing this?

You should be able to loosen the cable adjustment on the real axle. Looks kind of like a turnbuckle. Undo the locknut and loosen it up then readjust after you get the cable hooked back up. I think it should be 4 to 6 clicks with 40 lbs of force on the handle. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong......

Ok I'll give that a shot. I was looking at that last night but had to give up because it was getting dark. Thanks!
