It's that time again, guys.
Post up if you need anything done, otherwise, we'll be sanding the cow spots off of the Chick'n. Maybe doing a little welding, also.I would like to get the rest of body in primer.

I've got the parts for the Tundra brake upgrade on the Tacoma. It shouldn't take too long if everything goes as planned...I just need to replace the rotors, pads and calipers! See y'all then!!

Sounds like a party. ..
Where or what do we want for lunch?
It will likely be hot, thinking somewhere with A/C !!!

Bummer. Gman and I will be on a 'guys camping trip' to Lake Norman St Park that weekend...post pics.

does anybody have experience changing out the 2 solenoids for 1st gear on a 94 80 series ?
No, but that needs to be done on your vehicle ASAP! Have you seen any build threads for this?

I don't. I *think* once you get the valve body off, the solenoids should be accessible. If they are actuating properly, I'd be reluctant to drive it. Surely there's a build thread or youtube on it. Let us know what you find.

I've never done any work inside an auto trans, if it were mine, I might tackle it, but I took my 62 to Lextech to replace the kick-down cable. But that was before I had the lift, also.

I would tighten the kick-down cable first, a lot of times that works. I'm sure you've done it, but I have to remark the obvious of checking the fluid level--you never know. Jim at Champion Transmission on 17A is good and will treat you right.

Parts will be here Monday. $475 bucks later for 2 little solenoids, will probably tackle it this week. only one good thread out there on this subject doesn't look to hard. there are 4 solenoids in there just have to make sure I change the right ones. Also do you now a good place in Summerville to get the air conditioner charged ?

Thanks for the info. Does he do the trans flush where they remove all fluid including torque converter ?

We can charge it here

I had a problem with my system where the pressure was too high on the low pressure side and too low on the high pressure side... Clearly because I screwed up when I installed the 3 hose manifold to check my pressure... LexTech emptied and refilled my system for like $100. I have no business attempting anything beyond putting a little bit in if its low - maybe not even that much because that's exactly what messed up my AC in the first place.

@Yardboy - We'll be interested to see how this turns out. Our -80 is not downshifting to 1st gear once it gets warmed up. I found the transmission manual link... And saved the PDF, but now I can't tell you WHERE I found it on mud, and I can't upload it either.

It gives excellent troubleshooting technique !
