I've had my radios mounted like this for quite a few years now but haven't thought of a clever way to secure the mics. I'm curious what those with radios are doing. I've thought about the @bhicks mic holders but I use the stock cubby to hold stuff and I have two mics to secure. Gearkeepers also look cool but I'm sure they would irritate me swinging around while off-road. Options?

Look at B Hicks stuff!! The guy that made your drink holder. I have his mic holder in my 80...

The gear keeper is nice, I run those in my two 18 wheelers, but when pulling into jobsites or uneven driveways the swinging can get annoying. Also I have the CBs mounted on the overhead console. Since you ham mike is mounted Low you would have the cables all in the way. Since the cables are stretchy, some guys will hook the mic to a gear keeper, and zip tie or bungee the drooping mic cable up to the roof. This still allows you to yank the mic and key up, but when it retracts you dont have a bunch of cable swinging.

If you have room on the bottom, a simple angle bracket to hold a couple of mic mounts would work and you would just have to dangle the cable on each side of your shifter console.

I will post a couple of pics of how I have it setup in my Freightliner just for reference incase someone finds this while searching. I have the cable dangling, but the other way is to hold up the slack to where the gear keeper is pulling sideways in stowed position. It still dangles, but not in your line of sight.

Looking at your pic a bit more, if you had a tad bit more room on the left or right of he ham din slot, you could put a bracket there or one on each side of the ham. The trick is getting the bezel back on afterwards.

I thought about that. I was actually considering making a bracket that would go between the dash bezel similar to this.

That would work as well, they have those for the 18 wheelers too at some chrome shops. Real sturdy stainless pieces. They work great because they mount to the dash structure. If you had a spare bezel, i think that would be the way to go, incase you had to trim or clearance some of it, but still have the original incase you wanted to return to stock.

Mine is already cut to fit the CB. Already past the point of no return.
