Hi all,

i should buy a H55F ( 33030-60380 ) for BJ42LV-MCV 3B 1982 LHD but given the impossibility of finding a new unit, I have been advised to do the following assembly :
33030-60450 + 33311-60111 + 33131-60050 what do you think ? advice on this ?
but are the gear ratios the same ?
and there are no physical problems of interference ( shift lever ) in the assembly ?
thank you

Giacomo

Since the H55f for the B series engine ( 33030-60380 ) is discontinued, I believe swapping the input shaft and bearing retainer like you have described is your best option. The B series front bearing retainer ( 33131-60050) is also discontinued and is not very easy to find, but shouldn't be super hard to get. I'm planning to do the same thing so I have been reading a lot of posts about the different H55f variants. The gear ratios should be the same. The H55f had two different top plates, and the 40 series top plate is almost impossible to find. If you use an H55f with a 60/70 series top plate the shift lever won't line up with the hole in the floor of your 40 series. Cityracer sold a blank transmission cover that you could cut the correct holes in but I don't see it on the website anymore.

Not sure where this stands, but here is a thread by a member who is looking to make and sell an aftermarket H-55 top plate for 40's
