I am a huge fan of the H42 with 3.70 gears. The shift pattern is way better.

Where the 5 speed shines is on the trail in first gear.

4th gear versus 5th gear is 300 RPM with H42/3.70 versus H55/4.11

To some that matters but to me it is not worth losing my smooth shifting H42

top is my 45. 3000 rpm. Speedo is 10 slow. 76 mph GPS verified.

Middle. My FJ60. Speedo 10 slow. 3.70/H42

Bottom. FJ55. Speedo dead accurate. 4.11/H55.

All of these trucks are running 32.5 inch tires true on the truck

H55F with 4.11 in the diffs and 33” KO2s have been a really great set up for me the past six months. I really love the change. Maybe it’s tha fact that the original equipment was worn out, but I’ve been very happy driving daily around town and on the highway. And my speedometer is dead on accurate.

Now, if I could just get a holly sniper installed...

I love this setup. Ran all over East Texas and Louisiana in 2012 and 2013 at upwards of 80mph and 14mpg (fully smogged) after a good baseline tuning and @FJ40Jim carb. put about 17,000 miles on and loved every mile of it.

But you don't need this info anymore @WSOPgold2012 HA!

My 60 (currently non-op) also has 4.11s, 33s, and a H55F. Loved that setup. Man, I got to get that thing back on the road.
