Changed the oil filter cartridge on my 1979 HJ45 diesel H engine for first time. Even after reading everyone’s tribulations it was more fun than I deserved.

Well, not exactly one gallon. I was prepared for a leak and it came quick. Most I to the oil pan. Even after tightening the bolt it still dripped. It came down to taking off the housing again and spilling oil and then putting ALL the gaskets in the correct places.
Oil filter gasket got me yesterday, guess I had about 3 q on the driveway, I’m doing a filter relocation and eliminate this problem.
