Is it possible that there's ANYPLACE with stricter emissions than California???? o_O
Unbelievable!!!
I'd be willing to bet almost anything that a California car would pass. But you'd still have to go through all the hassle in your country to prove it. Then even if you did prove it, they may not just on principle. If they let you, then that sets a precedent for everyone else. :(
Eh, still sounds easier than California. Our rules are similar but the date is fixed at 1975 so in our case it's anything newer than 46 years old.

That said, I'd trade my California Lexus for that sweet Swedish Prado. I might miss my V8, but the grass is always greener on the other side of the ocean and that truck is beautiful.

Hit a milestone today.

Thx a lot! Yes, that is true... grass is always... :)

So...uh... no one's gonna ask about that sweet little van in between your 2 awesomely built rigs???
Yeah! That is a sweet van! It's owned by a club member here in NM. Has a 2 liter diesel and low range Tcase! It's amazing where he's been able to go. We had to build up a spot in one section for him but he motored through the rest of the day.

RHD, T-top, all-terrains.... Not your momma's Toyota van from the early 80's that I remember. Great view going down the steep stuff!

I thought I remembered they did sell a rare Toyota 4WD van model here back in the 80's… I realize that one above is a 25+ year import

I believe it's a Mitsubishi. I've see quite a few on my trips to Africa. They sometimes use them for safari's. They'll remove the roof and ad a pop-up roof so tourists can stand on their seats, through the roof for viewing and pic's as they bounce along the wild.

A post to refer others to when they say only a 2UZ-FE (4.7L) can achieve "high mileage"

Of course there is this near 1M mile 1UR-FE (4.6L) from a '10 Sequoia

but looking at ads 3 years ago I saw this '11 460 w/306K miles... who knows how many it has now after 3 years.

I thought I remember an owner with a '14 or '15 had purchased their father's 460 with over 300k miles as well.

Looking at ads today

'11 w/226k miles

1UR-FE (4.6L) out of a Tundra... here is a 1/2 million mile example

Its Toyota Hi ace van. The Mitsubishi van is very similar. Maybe built better for off road driving.

Should start a miles thread. Curious how many of these are getting to 200k plus and repairs needed along the way.

Didn’t we have one or was that only the 470?

o_O o_O o_O o_O BEST CASE scenario, that's over $118K in gas... That's over 5 semi-truck tankers of gas...

Nice camping spot on the route returning home from Flagstaff...
