I just ordered that pen, I think my main issue has been getting the trace of the item to properly translate to the foam. The thin pen will alleviate a majority of that issue. I’ve been fiddling with the locking tailgate area and it’s contoured as well but I have a working insert for the moment but it’s just not satisfactory to me. No one can see it or even knows it’s there but it’s just one of those things I can’t let go, the curse of the perfectionists I guess.

I have been playing with the arrangement of my Trail Tailor tailgate storage bin as well and I am just not content with how I currently have it setup. I need to sit down one afternoon and brainstorm it some more.

I bought this tray. I can tell you that a S&W 642 in a non-descript bag fits in the tray perfectly. This is the wife's daily driver and the 642 stays in there most of the time.

When I drive, there's a lot more hardware that generally comes along, mostly holstered tools in the variety of G32, S&W M&P Shield 45, RRA 14.5", etc. These are usually cased or "loose" about the vehicle to facilitate quick, easy acces.

I bought this to put in my Tundra, but have not installed it yet. Amazon product ASIN B01LXCJHKG

My wife would not be on board with that muzzle orientation, but I like the clean look.

These work with pocketable guns like a P365: Amazon product ASIN B08KFZK7MC Not really "concealed carry storage", but I would have no problem putting a firearm in the center console with one of these clipped on. They are snug enough to stay where they belong when jostled, but pull out easily with a purposeful tug.
I’ve used this for years with my g20 in my Console, pack and chest rig. It’s same as Blackhawk level 2 holster I use open carry just with the paddle removed.

I’ve found that these Blackhawk holsters are either loved or hated. I actually think they are neat if you use quick release option, you can mount it almost anywhere.
They have very good retention. I wear the g20 (right hip) in some fairly rugged conditions here in Alaska: mountaineering, mountain biking, back country multi day bike packs, fishing, hunting,…. I’ve used them for ~15 years, but when I made the switch from a chest rig I put a ton of time in getting repetition and muscle memory. I also have one for my 1911’s, once you get used to them hard to beat for rigorous activities.
