I've searched but couldn't find this answer...any help is appreciated.

'81 FJ43 guage cluster printed circuit connector (12 pin, round) pin #1 is ground.

Does this ground to the printed circuit board or the guage cluster back plate? (...or some other location)

Logic tells me the circuit board...but the diagrams don't confirm the location nor does the manual I have.
Thanks in advance

Get a multimeter, put it on continuity and go from the earth pin to the cluster frame and see if there is a connection
MarnO, thanks for your input. If I understand correctly, I should check ohms from the ground pin #1 to the cluster frame. When I do this I get a reading...makes sense considering the printed circuit mounting screws that secure the board to the cluster frame appear to be the grounding circuit on the board.

Conclusion: pin #1 grounding pigtail goes to the circuit board mounting screw in the top right portion of the board...fingers crossed...lol
