what's the final carnage tally?

How did clarence blow a tire? sidewall?
Friday, I was backing up in my new to me 80 and the rear mud flap clipped a rock and broke one of the fender flare clips off. That will be an easy fix though.
Saturday, Clarence hit a big rock with his sidewall and gashed a huge hole in it.

Other than that I think we were good

That you in the blue 80?

Friday I flopped, and the motor hydrolocked. So we tried pulling the plugs, couldn’t get one boot off the back one. We spent 3 hours dragging me outta the hole and failing to get the boot out. Broke my steering wheel in the process.
Got it on a trailer and headed to camp. Stopped at the Upstate cabin and rob asked why we didn’t just try manually rotating the crank, so we did it there and it was free and clear so we fired it off and oil went EVERYWHERE!!!!
Saturday, too much, buddy lost a wheel, then blew a front pinion, other buddy lost a knuckle. We limped out of the furthest trail in about... left at noon, got back at 10PM

@Bama4door you guys are nuts. We walked up and looked at it with some of the upstate guys and we bailed. I think they ran part of it from east to west (north to south), but eventually turned around. There are a couple places I've seen in other pictures that I would have never believed a big wide 80 would fit. Kudos to you guys.

So we did skip the first part (the ridge) with all the massive rocks/fins at the top (see 1st picture above with all of us standing around). We took the bypass to miss that section, but the rest of the trail is still super tight, rocky, steep and deeply rutted. Not having sliders on the new to me 80 was very nerve racking, but thanks to great spotting I made it out without any rocker damage

Yea 75 is a fun trail, even for (or perhaps especially for) an 80, but we sure skipped the hard/crazy parts. Last year we ran it and I rubbed a few trees on my body panels. This year it seems I learned a little as I came out dent free - in fact, we all did except for bamas mud flap. It reminds me of plinko :) what a great trail!

The one WAY out there, that’s mostly creek/river. FUN trail, not worth being 2 hours from camp if you’re sprinting though!!!

how many plies are in those sidewalls?
I don't know. Not enough. I think Goodyear and maybe a few more make tires with Kevlar sidewalls now. That may be something for the future but I had to get two new Bridgestones to get home the other day so I will be riding them for a while.
