After hearing some horror stories on how the cheapo Home Depot Fire Extinguishers don't really help or mess things up more in vehicle fires. I found this site that gives you a 2.5lb Halotron Fire Extinguisher for $75 shipped if you buy ten.

Anybody interested in going in on a group buy for one of these fire extinguisher. I think its a good investment/insurance.

I'll PM everybody once we get 10.

I will buy one assuming that my cruiser brethern have already researched the subject and discovered that this is the best type for vehicle use. The one I have now is old and of unknown quality.

$75 for something determined to be the real stuff is money well spent.

I hope this group buy goes easier than most. I will send $ to either the organizer or direct to the vendor, just let me know.

Thanks,

Don't count me in, but...

Halotron's the way to go... good choice. CO2 doesn't have any range (especially if it's windy) and ABC's cause almost as much damage as fire (paint/electrical corrosion).

Things to consider would be refill potential and perhaps upping the ante to the 5lb'er.
