4.88's
did you have to GRIND to get the c-clip in for the axles?

Yea, I sure did and was not too happy with that but that is justn a fact of the 4.88s. I've had them under for about a year now and I pulled the cover about 2 weeks ago and they were still wearing good.

Here's what my 4.88's looked like after grinding to get the crosspin into an ARB:

I also had to take a little bit off the inside of the teeth in order to get the thrust block to slide in:

I used a 3/4" sanding drum in a die grinder, with a fine drum on it, worked slowly till things just barely fit. Make sure you clean it well, remove all the grinder dust.

Grinding on a cruiser center is no big deal... You have to remove almost one full tooth on 5.29's

I have not heard of one single failure..

that awsome

How many miles have you put on it? My concern was reverse. I have a great contact patch on the drive side, but a little less on the coast. I had to grind two teeth for the pin and four for the sleeve.
been to maob and back twice and they were in my dd for about five months.

i daily drive my 60 all over the place

a little vibe, but it could be anything ;)
