Hey fellas

Well, long story short... I was taking my son to daycare this morning when some ****ing ******* drove by really fast where some road work was done the day before with a lot of diry and gravel left on the road... A rock flew and hit my window in picture... Thank God we where both safe (my 2 year old was in his car seat on the other side) But it sure had scared the **** out of us... :bang:

My poor cruiser is a 97 40th anniv. Sage.... What are my options here..

Dose anyone has a used window for sell... I have only a couple of junk yards near by and non of them has any LCs...

Also, if I get that window can I install it myself... I'm too broke to pay a glass shop...

Any input is greatly appreciated...

Man, that really stinks! There are a few 80's up at the local pick-and-pull, not sure if shipping from WA would kill it, but we're heading up there this weekend anyways, I'll keep an eye out.

I'm sure someone out there is parting an 80 out...

Glad to hear no one was hurt!

Someone decided to break out the exact same one in a parking lot trying to get into my truck. Cost me $76 for the glass and took me about 45mins to an hour to install the new one. Only bad part was it had no factory tint. Hope that helps.

Yohavos, Thank you for your help and wishes...

Jermey, That diffenetly helps, thanks... Yes, the OEM tent is important... BTW, I have PM'd a mudder who's parting out an 80 in the calssifieds... He has a 96 Black that was rolled over and he is parting most of it out... Dose anyone knows if the tent color on that one is the same of the glass of a 97 40th anniv. Antique Sage Pearl ?

Thanks again...

I don't think the tint is the same but you can find the 3M tint to match if it comes to that. BTW - I have that window from a 94. PM me if I can help.

Sorry Moe - beautiful truck. Best of luck getting it fixed.

Thank you, I would diffenetly PM you if I couldn't score a matching part... I am trying to keep the match exact whenever possible...

My day started off bad .. I forgot to place a tv i was transporting face down instead of right side up in the back of my Volvo and it tipped over and smashes my side rear window.. :bang: :censor::crybaby:

hope you can get it fixed cheap

Man... if it's any consolation, fellas, my PHH blew on my way home from school last night.

I've had the 1fzephh.com kit in my glove box for almost 2 months

I know that doesn't fix anyone's windows, but I can share some misery, even if it's self inflicted :bang:

Dude...

Now that's a bitch to fix... I thought my day was crappy :( ... But whatsup with the windows being all busted this morning ? Even on Volvos....

FWIW, the tint color will be the same (or damned near close) for all Land Cruisers from 1993 through 1997.
I recall the 91/92 models didn't have the same factory tint for the rear windows.

The 96 aned 97 LX 450s are tinted, but the Lexus tint color is different from the Toyota tint color when viewed from the inside, looking out. Lexus is bronze and Toyota is bluish/greyish?

I might be off, but I swear my tint (97 Land Cruiser) is more bronze/brown than gray.

I agree with yohavos... Mine has a bronzish tint to it... Here's another pic of it when I bought it last year...

I purchased a used windows from a local mudder who had champagne and the tint looked different than on my maroon. Got it installed and damn close match; I believe the difference is going to be wear and exposure to elements.

On the installation, it is very doable - 45 minutes is about right. A second set of hands is helpful to help hold everything together. While everything in that door is apart - you may want to PM the runners, etc. Grab the interior panel tools from Harbor Freight ($5) and some packing tape or the like to repair the factory plastic wrap in the event you tear it while your hands/arms are in the interior of the door.

I never even opened up my door panel. Just put down the back window, took out the screw, slid it over a little and put the new glass in. Put the screw back in and all done. What took the longest was all the clean-up. Just did mine about 2 months ago.
