If any of you socal cruiser owners ever need a truly reliable and honest mechanic, I can not praise highly enough, Mario over at Topline Performance. Over the last 4-5 years, he has rebuilt my transmission, installed a new 4:88 gear and ARB front locker, and taken care of a ton of other maintenance. I wish that I could do these things on my own but I do not have the time, expertise, nor the equipment. Mario and crew have taken fantastic care of me. I am installing a new exhaust as of this wiring. Will post some pics.

I am in OC...where arw they at?

In Huntington Beach between Gothard and Ellis.

Anyone know Mario’s labor rates?
I’m contemplating getting my power steering pump rebuilt.
I already have the $30 Gates seal kit & will have them put in a new bearing ($30-ish I assume?).
a new PS pump is listed at Norwalk Toyota for $269.
I wonder what would be the cheaper option. Or,if close enough, just buy new.
yeah, I could just call them, but it’s Sunday & want to know now! 😂

I think labor rate is $150 my trucks there now

$150 an hour?
So assuming $60 in parts & ASSUMMING he could bang it out in only one hour = $210.
My bet it’ll take a little longer than that, so new OEM from Toyota would be comparable, or about the same.

Most shops quote labor “by the book”, using the Chilton’s guide for labor time. Make sure it is not by the clock so you don’t have to pay for all the breaks.

Not trying not hijack this thread... If anyone has a recommended welding shop (bumper/frame work) in Orange County, LA area, please share POC/shop info. Much thanks MUD!
