So some buddies and I went out to the George Washington National Forest and had some fun on the trails. The cruiser ran really well and I even got to pull out the dakota that left me in the dust on the way out there.

Yeah the pictures are not mine obviously. I just wanted to get my kicks in against him 
. We went to dry run right off of 33. I can't wait to get a friggin lift and some better tires. My broken springs don't like the abuse very much. I think my PS pump is on its way out though and after a few more beatings will probably need to be replaced. Anyyywayy gotta love a stock 60 schooling a truck 13 years newer.

is that one of the state access trails or old forestry road???
In the recovery photo, what is the strap connected to on the Dakota? Looks like it may be wrapped around the frame then over the bumper. Or is there a hook up there?

I think it is a state access trail. It has a road sign and everything. There are 2 water crossings then the real road ends and it becomes an old forest road I think. It really goes on for a long time. It isn't rock crawling but it isn't mud bogging either. It was fun and challenging.
oh man was it a bitch to find somewhere to connect to. We had to go through the frame and over the bumper. It was absolutely not a smart thing but we really had no other choice. Bumper is fine though.

I can't believe the lack of tow points of the trucks today. We had a heck of a time trying to pull a Chevy pickup out of a gravel riverbed last summer. There was nothing on the front to hook/wrap a chain (the only thing we had). We ended up wrapping the chain around the cradle under engine.
NEVER again will I leave the 'Cruiser behind.
I had chosen to leave the 'Cruiser back in town because I did not have a tow hitch at the time. We were picking up some canoes on the way and so I was riding w/ some others in the group.
Nice looking stock rig! That is what ours looked like (same color and everythang) when we first got her.
