Hi, the pic below is the compressor of my 3000GT, it is covered by oil which leaking from cam seal or valve cover, I want to clean it and give it a try, so what is the correct way to do it?

Spray on degreaser, brush then garden hose it? Do I need to take care of those wires/connectors before hosing them?

And by the way, would the oil like this kill the compressor already?

Thank you so much!

Wires wont mind being wet, biggest concern is keeping inlet and outlet where the lines mount clean, keep everything out. Degreaser, brush, brakekleen, whatever youve got. Blow dryish with compressed air after the fact to speed things up a bit. Getting oily extrernally won't hurt compressor. Give the pulley a spin by hand, should be smooth and quiet, there is a bearing in magnetic pully mechanism that is turning any time engine is running and compressor is not engaged.
