I bought this rig a couple weeks ago and planned on replacing the tires the day after I took it home. However when I bought it I didn't really pay attention to the wheels and figured they were 17's. Once I discovered they were 18's there was no way I was going to put tires on them, very few tire size choices in 17 much less 18.

So, off to search for some 98-02 stock 16" alloys. Found a company on eBay called All Factory Alloys in NY. Called them up and they had OEM wheels that were refinished as like new. They also offered custom powdercoating done inhouse before shipping out to you. So I dropped the bills and 6 days later had 5 wheels that look absolutely brand new, not a single blemish on them. The powdercoating is well done, even coat with no flaws or drips.

Now for the porn.

Wheels out of the box before loading into the rig to head to the tire shop.

The BEFORE shot, bone stock as I picked it up from the first owner.

Drum roll please.....the AFTER shot or money shot!

I took all these this morning as I raced to get them on and get back to work. More/better money shots to come very soon.

Looks great and I don't normally like black wheels. Good choice!

That is a thing of beauty right there. I still wish i had found a black 100 when I was buying mine.

Hey, in all fairness, I only promised wheel/tire porn. I never said it wouldn't be something you already looked at before.... :D

Consider us both having good taste!

Yeah, you know I was wondering if the PO put darker tint on the rear. It's pretty dark day and night. Luckily they didn't do the front side windows, that annoys me. Yes, I'm getting old.

Looks real good! What made you like the 16's more than the 18's?

Everything about the 16's is a plus. First and foremost you get WAY more tire options in brands and sizes compared to 17's/18's. Then whatever your selection is you get more sidewall which I prefer.

Lastly I like the look of the smaller rim where the brakes fill the inside of the wheel completely. With the 16's there is about 10mm of clearance between the caliper and wheel.

One of the dumbest things I see rolling down the road is some suburban with 10" brake disks and they have 28" rims installed. The brakes look like they are off a bicycle.

Yup, 2000UZJ and a couple others can take credit for pushing me into 295's. I was going to go with 285's until I saw their rigs. ;)

Makes me want to hang my in shame, mine are the polar opposite of those. This is the best one. I cleaned them yesterday. Even disliking black, those look good.

That is the best porn I've ever watched. No seriously. Did you have to adjust the turn stops to stop the tires from rubbing at full lock?

I haven't actually tried them at full lock yet, but expect them to rub slightly from what others on MUD have said. Once I install the OME lift any small amount of rub will be gone which is the plan anyways.

It was pretty funny at the tire shop when I told them I wanted to put 16" rim with 295x75x16 on my LC. First the tire guy was like "NO WAY" the 16's would clear the stock brakes. I had to reassure him three times they are factory wheels and will fit perfectly. Then he goes to mount the first wheel/tire and is like "no way this isn't going to rub majorly". He hops in the cab and turns the wheel back and fourth and it clears. I just stand there laughing. He finishes and complimented me on the choices. :D

I owe all the knowledge to everyone here on MUD, otherwise I would have no idea what fit and didn't.

They look great!

I got new OE chrome wheels last week and I had the original wheel sent out for powder, I get them back Monday.

Then dropping off 9 late model spoke wheels for powder...God it's a slippery slope.

Cheers

Shane

Yeah, what Trunk Monkey said.... I think it looks good too. :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

But honestly I think this is the best color - Moab red over black powder coating.

I still can't get over how nice and shiny your 100 looks! I was going to get 285's but wanted bigger. Then I found the 295's. Fell in love! Did you do the spare in 295 as well?

I wish mine was black sometimes... but silver hides the pinstriping (which I have quite a bit) pretty well.

Here is a nice shot of the 295's
