My 60 has a sunroof where the rockers were. The rear dog legs flap emphatically at highway speeds. I need to weld in some new steel before everything rusts away.

I'm not looking for a show car body job, but I want to weld in new sections, and I've had really bad luck with aftermarket cruiser sheetmetal. This is only to get a couple more years out of this truck before I rebuild it entirely using a rust free FJ60. Does anyone know a metal repair panel supplier or cruiser outfit that sells aftermarket repair panels/panels that are close to the right contours, and can be fit without too much hassle?

4 wheel auto in AB has some but they are super expensive and look like ordinary aftermarket panels.

Panels I need:

Piece above the rear wheel opening - rear (quarter) portion
Piece above the rear wheel opening - front (door leg) portion
Rocker panel
Left front fender

Any ideas?

thanks!

I used these. They are not perfect fitting panels, but they are not too bad. I used the back half of it only. Saved the front for later, as I had no rust in the front half of the wheel well yet.

I trimmed them to use the parts I wanted. Cut out the wheel area to match. Then I over lapped these onto the body and tacked them on with my Mig. After I ground down the welds. Sandblasted the area and painted with POR-15 on each side. Then used por filler and smoothed it all out.

I have been watching that thread a lot. Thanks. I was hoping for cheaper panels. I'm not too happy about paying 300$ for a panel that fits wrong, but I may have to. I think the rockers are going to be square tube, but that rear panel needs to at least fit OK because I need the whole section. I'm not looking for a permanent fix, the tin worm is already too bad for a complete fix, I just want it to extend the life of the vehicle for a few years. Mechanically it's really good.

I am looking at those used panels, thanks...

Other idea may be cutting out the lip all the way around and using a round pipe bent to the shape of the wheel opening and weld it in...like this 70 series.

I'd grab the sawzall, some wrenches, and hit the yards...
