so I was rear ended by a mildly slammed silverado today, I was stopped he said he was doing about 30.

There was zero damage to my cruiser. However he had a busted head light, a crushed hood, and a leaking radiator. His reaction "damn holmes uhh dont worry abut me man yo s**t is fine I aint got insurance." He then decided to speed off.

tech wise: Im considering putting a vacuum gauge on, where would the best place to put it be?

Stock bumper? or built?

Wonder how far he got with a blown rad?

Sweet, that's all I've got so far. :)

I'd put the vac gauge in the cab somewhere.

Like 4x4rob said T it into the A/C idle up vac line. It's the smaller line that comes off the union at the manifold with the brake booster's line. I upgraded to copper line with the T adapter that came with the vac gauge. Works great.

noob question alert

About armor. If you were to get hit on your heavy steel bumper, is it more likely to harm your frame than the stocker would? Same question for sliders. Seems like if you took a hard lick to steel bolted/welded directly onto the frame, you'd take damage in the last place you want it.

It was that new tranny mount that you put in! Oh and depending on the hit and angle it could damage your frame. I have Bionic blue that was M-80's and it was hit by a Semi and still drives!!

I don't know about that. As soon as I put it on I found out I need both front engine mounts as well:crybaby:

it depends on what you hit or hits you. the solidity of the sliders and bumpers can cause problems depending on the amount of energy transfered in the collision and what you hit, but the way cars and trucks are made today the other car will end-up taking the brunt of the energy absorption/damage effectivley bouncing off you on straight line impacts. if you hit a tree you will bend if you hit another car chances are the other car will bend. however, its the angled crashes that can bend frames strong bumpers/sliders or not.

I put mine in the clock hole, fit perfect, just latch on to any vac hose.I think i used the line to the wiper washer.
