my 2006 100 has an aftermarket key. Pictured below. I want to go back to an OEM key. I’d like to get at least 2 OEM keys made and programmed etc.

Is that terribly expensive to do?
What steps are involved?
Is it possible to do yourself?

Interesting. I didn't know those would work on the 100.

You can get a new key and remote for ~$125 from a dealer for most years. Get it from an online dealer, not your local one. You'll need to program both the door remote and the immobilizer. Two separate processes and both potentially a slight headache. Having techstream with a firmware 2.X cable makes it a breeze.

Can I’m swap the guts from this aftermarket key to yours? Or would I still have to start with an OEM key?
You'd have to start with the OEM key. My kit is made very specifically for the 100 series key. Aftermarket remotes should be fine, but it needs to be that common three button square style remote.
Also, looking forward...
