I have some steering "slack" and a rebuild won't address that issue as the 30-year old gears are simply worn and no longer mesh as when new. That is my motivation for a new box.

Has anyone tried to replace the recirculating ball valve into an older housing with the 105 shaft upgrade and rebuild supplies. Impex shows the valve with balls part# 4412060180 as available at around 300 bucks iirc. Plus the shaft pitman arm and supples would put you at about 1000 bucks.
This would get you all new wear parts as the balls in the valve body account for a lot of wear and slop that is felt in “rebuilt” boxes as I understand it.

shipping was a little crazy! Impex was quoting around $25 for shipping, PartsQue was over $200!

I have currency set to USD, and shipping location as USA.

Still shows price as $2041 USD Exc shipping
Now it reverted back to $2041 and my loaded shopping cart was vanquished.

I had cart loaded and was waiting to hear from neighbor if wanted anything tossed in to ride along. Box was $1776.44 USD as I took screenshot above.

This is common on partsouq, seen it before. Partsouq deal in crazy volume, and they don't know current price for everything, they mostly know the price last time someone ordered it. For a lot of stuff, if the advertised price is lower than it should be, they'll honour the price and eat the loss! After your order goes through and the current price is known, they'll revise it upwards to keep it profitable with their standard margin. I've had that happen a dozen times when ordering obscure parts, within a day of my order closing the price shoots up, but I get the bargain price.
That makes sense, and I'll definitely file that lesson away.
Price re-reverted again to $1766 so I ordered!

This isn’t actually due to them not knowing the price.
This is due to the varying currency exchange rates based on what country the buyer is in and what currency they are using vs. the constant change in daily exchange rates.

Yup. If you play the currency markets, that’s not an out of normal swing in currency valuations of commodities. Also, Toyota just did their quarterly price adjustments this week. That’s probably a factor as well.

The United Arab Emirates Dirham is pegged to the US Dollar of approx 3.67 AED to 1 USD but it could be Yen to AED fluctuations.
Edited to add, I had to check...fluctuations between AED/USD and the Yen is minimal over the last week.
