If you have not looked at the inside of your heater blower assembly, you'd be surprised at how gnarly it is inside.
What started as a quick fix to seal the assembly to the side cowl ended up in a total re and re.

Evidently the material/sealing grey foam has less than a 40 year life span. Not surprising, but hidden until you open it up.
Essentially a combination of grey desiccated dusty degraded foam and greasy grey degraded foam.

Crack into it, you'll breathe better and you'll get a much improved air/heat delivery.

i used 1/8 cork on both sides of the internal baffle and varying thickness and widths of peel and stick "weather stripping"
to achieve a seal btw assembly/side cowl and assembly/fire wall side of cowl.

You mean this job? 🤪

This is a job I cannot wait to tackle.....one day

not the heater box, ......the heater blower assembly under the hood

the source of most of the grey mess that ends up in the heater box.

i didn't take a single pic, wasn't really planning on digging in that deep until i did.

My heater box (heater core) was worse than the blower. But not as bad as zerotreedelta.
