I have a Venezuelan 1982 fj40 and am having a dickens of a time finding rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders. Does anyone have any insight? I’ve ordered two different sets from AutoZone and Advanced. One looked almost just like mine, only a good bit too short in length.

Possible it could be a Dana axle. Search in this forum with search words Venezuela and Dana. FYI this is a Venezuela thing not Global.

Excellent. Thank you. The wheel cylinder I pulled actually has “Wagner” barely legible on it which gave me pause, being a US manufactured part on a Venezuelan vehicle.

These were delivered in Kit form to Venezuela. They had rules about a percentage being installed locally. Why Dana axle I'm not sure but this has been brought a few times. Not only 40 series but 70 series as well.
