my family and I are getting ready to take a road trip and I’m shifting focus to get the rig ready - 2005 LX 470. There’s a few items that I’m trying to sort out.
1) towing capacity. My owners manual says 5,000lb but I’m seeing a lot of places mention 6,500. I know the bumper hitch limit is 5,000 but is that the same limit with an actual hitch receiver that was not factory installed? From what I can tell the hitch mounts only to the rear-most mounting holes on the frame. I’m assuming I’d have to replace that with a different one to make use of a weight distribution hitch. Is that correct?
2) I have some Christmas lights on the dashboard: jumping E1 to Tc I get:
- VSC TRAC blinks 39, 47, 48
- VGRS blinks 41
- AHC OFF blinks 1276, 7676
I don’t know how to look these up because I can’t seem to find the prefix numbers for them (for example Pxx39). I tried to search around but couldn’t find what I needed either here on on the wider web. Hoping someone that knows off the top of their head can chime in even with the prefixes so I can do some more research.
