Getting my new Cruiser this weekend!!!!!! UPDATE!!!!!

Just want to take forum dive...what the hell!!!! I am picking up my 1st new (used) Cruiser......1997, silver, 40th, lockers, etc... The forum really helped with my purchase!!!!

I CAN NOT FRIGGIN WAIT!!!!!!! I SEARCHED and FOUND more information on this forum than anywhere else on the web........you guys are great!!!!! as a newbie I appreciate all the info!!!!!!!

THANKS!!

<<<<<<UPDATE>>>>>>

 Well, this story ends with no new LC in my drive way. If you look at the pictures below (I don't think this was even the same truck) of the LC I was traveling to Long Island, NY from Albany, NY to see, you would indeed say WOW, not bad at all right? 1997 40th with lockers and sage in color. Kinda hard to find but not at all impossible. WELL, when I got to the dealer I was not even parked yet and I noticed a large dent in the hood. OK no big deal I thought, this can be fixed easy enough. This was just the beginning. There was not 1 body panel that did not have dents or scratches....still not a huge concern as I was planning on wheeling with it anyway. On to the interior....it looked like someone let loose 5 rabid Rot Weilers in the cab and threw in a cat for good measure.....absolutly hidious!!!!! I even found MOLD under the left rear seat where it looks like someone had spilled coffee and forgot about it.

The dealer blatantly lied to me!!!! I was PISSED as you can imagine!!!!! He had assured me as to the fatastic condition of the LC. The 1st sentence in the add was "THIS IS A 40 TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION IN PERFECT CONDITION,THIS VEHICLE RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW ,NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS," yeah right!!!!!

OK mechanical problems...I was on the phone with him in the middle of my drive to LI. He told me the truck was running rough so he "threw in at no cost" a tune-up.....another lie...at the time he placed the add the truck was running rough and even his mechanic said "I would not let this guy drive back to Albany with the truck running like this"....NICE!!!!!

So the search continues............

that's exactly what I want. Just can't convince the wife I need one. I guess i'll have to settle on her getting a new 100.

Tell her with the money you'll save getting a 97 vs a new 100 you can take her on a vacation or get her some jewelery...... ;)

Looks s***ty, like someone released a pack of rots on the interior and threw in a cat for good measeure. Also, looks like a lot of dents/scratches and the pics suggest it is running like crap.

DO NOT BUY THAT RIG!

Purty. What's the mileage on her?

Oh, and welcome! :flipoff2:

I guess the milage is ok....it's 98k. BUT, it's got a squeaky clean carfax and only 1 previous owner!!!! I have not seen the truck in person.. only through pics... but from what I was told from the dealer (that only goes so far) and from what pics I do have it looks darn good to me...tomorrow we will see as I am on my way down to Long Island from Albany to get it!

Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!!!
