im getting work done on my 60, and depending on what else the guy finds that might be a concern ,( very trustworthy mechanic) i may be soon looking to trade up to a newer landcruiser
few questions:

1. when did the 80 series stop having cloth interiors?
I dont want leather, since its going to spend most of its time as a clean
work truck.

2 did they all have third row seats?

3 I've heard that some years were underpowered. what should i look for?

i will exchange power for the cloth interior.

thanks

93 and up for the highre powered 80 series

I think all years have cloth available

Get one that has an optional front and rear locker.

Check out the newbie guide on Slee's site for the rest of your questions

Cloth was available through the run, but was much more common in the "underpowered" years 91-92. You'll likely be "stuck" with leather in a newer truck.

This is based on what I've seen for sale, not on actual import figures.

Good luck,

David

nothing wrong with leather in a work truck

you are wearing leather boots and have a leather belt, right?

if you did happen to have a truck with power adjustable leather seats and you really wanted cloth Im more than certain that you could easily find someone with an FJ who would be very happy to drive to your house (at your convenience) and trade out their (non power adjustable) cloth seats with you
