Gearbox Rebuild

I am doing a gearbox rebuild on my cruiser and just saw all the o-rings that need to be replaced. I was wondering if a manual was necessary, and if so, are there any free diagrams or images that anyone has of a diagram, or do I just need to buy a Toyota manual?

www.birfield.com has electronic version of the body and chassis manual that covers the transmission & transfer case. However, birfield is currently switching hosts and is down. It might be up again after the weekend...

Any special tools besides a puller I'll need? Any words of advice from experience? When's birfield going to be back?
