Hi All
I have resently put a H150 gearbox, soursed from a FzJ79, into my HzJ76. The engin now seems to be tilting backwards a bit more than before the swap.
I had to use the FzJ mount as HzJ ( R151gearbox) mount did not fit the new box. I then tried to compare info on the FzJ and HDJ mounts, in case the HDJ mount is taller, which would slove my problem.
Trouble is that I can't find any ToyoDIY on these mounts. I have found that the HDJ mount is 12371-17120 and that this is also the V8 mount, but does not mention the FzJ so I asume that they are different. The gearbox is the same and the crossmember is the same, Sooo, i asume that the diference is in the hight of the mounting.
Any further thoughts, info part numbers or pictures which would help would be appriciated.

When you say the engine appears to be tilting backwards, do you mean the gearbox is too low? If so , could you use a spacer to lift it?
There is a lot of voodoo working against you when start swapping gearboxes from different engines into models that used a different box, as you have found.o_O

Well, yes and no, Ross, Nothing unusual about a H150 in a 76 chassis and nothing unusual about a Hz or similar blocked HD in a 76 chassis, so its just a case of finding the correct combinations .
I'm guessing that the engine mountings between the HD abd the HZ would be the same, so a HD gearbox mount should put things where they are suposed to be. Right.??

I managed to snag the FzJ79 cross member when I got the H150, but although it does not fit the 76 chassis ( mounts are outboard, 76 mounts are inboard), it is flat between the rails , as is the origional .

I am not even really sure that the engine is tilting back, it may just be my imagination. When the vehicle is level it tilts about 3.5 degrees according to my iphone.

Yes, a spacer is an option, I could get about 6mm before compromising the threadsof the mounting, but I would rather not do this if origional toyota parts solve the problem, if indeed there is one.
