Im planning to have a bearing kit put into my diesel H55f soon.
I can get a kit from a supplier on Ebay who is offering a Koyo brand kit at what seems a good price.
Koyo does supply bearings to Toyota but does anyone know if Koyo bearings are the OEM brand for H55F gearboxes?

I can't tell you for the gearbox, but a split case, mated to a H55F in a HJ60 has Koyo bearings in it (unl;ess they are from a previous rebuild, which I doubt.).

It seems that almost all the aftermarket kits have Koyo bearings. As far as the gaskets, I find TerrainTamer offers the best quality short of genuine Toyota. Croc Country gaskets are a bit thin.

I bought my kit from bunderberg wreckers a few yrs ago, good kit and the cheapest including freight.Other stuff I've bought from them was in toyota packaging

Ill probably get the Koyo brand then and be done with it. The ebay seller wants $295AUD ,any aussies seen them cheaper than that?

The price isn't the bottom line in the kits as some kits contain more than others. Some kits actually include the three brass syncro rings others do not. Some also include the the syncro springs and syncro keys for 3,4 and 5th gear.
