Gas lever cable not opening gas cap (1 Viewer)

I just got my 80 delivered, hopped it took it for a spin and took off to take gas, only to find out the cap isn't popping. It feels like this cable isn't budging one bit.

Please help

Might have a weak spring at the door. Have someone pull the tab in the cab while someone else pry’s the door. Happened to me. Spring is still available from Toyota

Usually a weak or broken spring, but If the cable isn't budging, you can likely take a credit card or something similar and bit more flexible to carefully insert in the gap to depress the plunger that keeps it closed.

you can pop out the inner left trim panel to expose the workings of that cable as well. If I remember correctly, even taking out the jack will give you some visibility into that area.
