Yep that's obvious.

Curiously they did the white lightning in a celica also I think.

And I definitely agree that the white lightning is no better than any GX GXL HJ61........other than its worth twice as much and will only ever go up in value exponentially. And I still want one even though I don't like the all white colour scheme.

there was a white lightning for sale on gumtree a few months back.. I dont see the big deal, I think it was a marketing ploy be toyota in australia and theyre no different to most other 60s besides the stupid name and colour coding

They do it every time when the sales get low and towards the end of the model

I've been told many times by 80 owners to stay well away from any anniversary model 80 because they changed specific parts like brake boosters and callipers and diff ratios and such nonsense and the parts are ridiculously hard and expensive to find. That's only anecdotal though.

Yep as much as I'd like to own to a Lightning due to the limited number I don't think it's ever gonna happen So maybe I might just paint everything red and get a badge made up Red Lightning 007

Single unit height. Usually in the later models you'll see a double sized (din) radio unit.

No cable lockers, no high roof, no five speed, no pto winch, no fender flares, no diesel.... let alone multiple trim options! Hey but we do have those cool headlight squirters. So far we know:

G pack: has a tail gate with electric lock on the tail gate only, LSD and optioned AC. Under driver seat heater. Nothing else really special that I can recall?

GX: electric windows, full sized mirrors and all doors. Solenoid 4WD with LSD. Tail gate only.
Optioned AC?
All 2 seat front with centre console?

GXL: all of the above for GX plus all chrome trim incl. gutter and window trim, mirrors etc. I'm not sure if the GX has chrome trim or not.

-central locking on all 5 doors.
-no lsd.
-ac.
-push button 4H.
-no centre console.
-chrome trim on gutter.
-small mirrors.

But, this thread is a brave attempt to figure out the G, GXL, VX, GX, Sahara badges.
And then there is also a no-badge: vynl seats and vynl carpet, barn doors, and nothing else.

Wow yours must be optioned up because I have never seen a G with all that kit on it and I've never seen a solenoid 4wd on a pre 87' either especially on a G.
Also no LSD? Are you sure? I've never seen a diesel 60 that isn't LSD, my 83' G was LSD and my mate's pov pack was LSD also.
