Anyone have any ideas or done such a thing?
More specfically, steering.

Steering is the big hurdle obviously. Slee has a new set of hi-steer arms out that look like they should work pretty well, but they're not cheap. Outside of that, it's not a very common swap. I got about 90% done with mine and ended up scrapping it and going a different route.

The email reply about leafs (leaves?)

Rick, we have sold quite a few of these sets, but not sure how all of them were used. One thing that I do know, it will not work with leaf springs. Not sure on what you are planning to do.

Christo Slee

I'm just not quite ready to link the truck yet...

Hydro isn't an option yet, no.
This isn't for an 80, either, it's for an rn truck :D
I have no problem sitting on the axle untill the truck is no longer road worthy, THEN linking it and trailering it.
But it'd be nice to only cut the front end off the truck once, you know?
and the 80 birfs are large, I could play for a while before having to buy longs...
I'll see if anyone else has had any ideas, you just never know.
Now if someone would cast new knuckles with 4 or 5 or 6 top studs...... and some hy steer arms to go with them.....

You can put the 80 elocker in a mini truck housing, I think. Put that with some 30 spline longs and you're golden.

Yup, that's what I have. I held onto the HP diff when I scrapped the plans for the 80 axle and put it in a mini-truck housing with 30-spline longs. I have no worries about my front axle holding up to the 38s they turn.

I couldn't say if it was road worthy or not yet, but it should be. I swapped the entire front suspension out of a FJ80 under my 82 pickup. I plan on running full hydro behind the axle since this is a trailer queen, but I don't see why a FJ60 or 80 steering box wouldn't alow you to run the stock steering setup.
