3 weeks ago I went into the desert for 3 days, the weather forecast was normal for the hot season. In the afternoon of the first day we started to get weather alerts (part of the navigation software) on flash flood danger in the part of the desert we were traveling. Nobody prepared us for the phenomena that come. In the west black clouds over the Mediterranean sea start accumulating. I built my tent without pouting the rainfly cover it was hot. After dark, we had an exceptional lightning storm that never recorded in Israel for hours we had 40-50 lightnings per minute. One boy camping near the sea with his family died from lightning strikes. I put the rain cover over the tent and went to sleep at 2 AM a lightning strike near our camp the very strong noise and light continue sleeping at 4 AM it started raining dogs and cats. Next morning all the creeks were flowing and all the desert becomes a big muddy hell. We crossed a lot of water passes and a lot of muddy trails the rig undercarriage was full of mud I made my way back home safely.
Fast forward, so I took it to the car wash to clean the mud I asked the professor that was operating the water jet machine not to come too close to the old rig, I was siting in the car, the engine was idling totally fine, until the professor could not resist and shoved the nozzle under the carriage at the driver seat. CEL on engine stumbles and dies. It started the engine very rough ideal I hold it in high RPM CEL on all the time.
Used Toyocom it was code 26, took it for a long drive, letting it dry after some time the Idle become reasonable, erased the code from the ECM and it did not come back.
A week ago I went for a 2 day trip with the Jeep Rubicon club. I wrote all about it the what did you do this weekend tread. No CEL no problem until the end of the second day. I had 3 miles of washboard trail until pavement. Got a CEL on and code 26. Very bad gas mileage on the way home.
This weekend I opened the O2 Sensors plugs bank 1 had some liquid in it bank 2 was dry, used a contact spray to clean the connectors.
Checked the wires they were good and the pins in the connectors.
Close and cover the connectors with silicone tape
Replace the dry split tube cover with a new one.
Used 2 pieces of bicycle tire inner tube to cover it all and waterproof it
Tied everything up and away from the exhaust.
Looking at live data in the Toyocom Osiloscope that Bank 1 had a bad wave that is different from Bank 2. And now they are symmetrical and look the same
