I have a FZJ100 here in Iraq I can play with and take some parts off of.(see 80's section) While trying to research the model

How's Baghdad now? I was in Baghdad and Kirkuk in 2006. I tried to get a hold of a LC when I was in Kirkuk, but got stuck with an Expedition. That thing sucked. I'm headed back within the next 60 days, but I'm not sure if I'm going to Iraq or Afghanistan yet. Hopefully I'll get a better vehicle this time.

Baghdad is safer than when I got here last april. They dont shoot at us much any more. They are still hitting us with EFP's pretty regularly and the RKG3 threat is very high. Shotguns in the turrets are common and some vics have two or three guys on the roof to prevent it. Vbied's are up but they are targeting Iraqis and not us. Other than that things couldnt be better.

To Afghanistan? We're moving most of our operations there anyway, so after this deployment I probably won't have the option. Although most people I've spoke with who've deployed to both countries seem to prefer Afghanistan. Definitely looks a lot better for wheelin'.

That is really good to know. I hope to find out where I'm going soon, but I'm thinking it will be Afghanistan.

There are tons of people here in Iraq not doing a thing. I am on The big base since they gave my old one to the Iraqis. (the most morterd and rocketed base here...we slept in the bunkers there) Out of the 60K troops on this base I bet only 10k of us actually work and leave the wire. I am at fobbit central. They dont have a clue. The last 2 days were so bad here. We are grounded until we learn new ways to defeat(kill) the enemy. I think its time for me to get out of here. I have volunteered to stay twice. I hope I havent pushed my luck. Today we had three close calls.
