I'm trying to use my OEM fusible link ends with a new wire, how do you get the thing apart? I'm sure there's a trick! Landpimp, I saw a post where you repaired yours, can you help?

Thanks John, I messed with it for about 20 minutes and gave up. PO bypassed mine by just plugging the 2 ends together without the link. :( Mine is a '77, I just ordered a used one from SOR, 12 bucks.

Ouch, a new one is only 5 bucks more from Toyota (but it has an extra plug on it). I posted pics a few months ago, if you're interested.

    Fusible link

Here's a pic of what PO did, he removed my fusible link and just plugged the ends together eliminating it. I want to put the link back in but as you can tell my wiring is pretty scary so I want to remove the wire from the link and replace it. I just can't get the metal plug out of the OEM plastic housing, I'm sure there's some trick to getting it out!
