Funky brakes...a funky fix! (1 Viewer)

I've been pulling my hair out after I did a birf rebuild and brake upgrade. The brakes would need to be double pumped before they would catch. I searched here and found some great threads but to no avail I couldn't get them to work properly. I bled them, I flushed the system and added new fluid, pressure bled them, new master cylinder, more bleeding, LSPV spacers, and they still weren't right. I finally had enough and took it to my trusted mechanic. Turns out I didn't adjust the bearing pre-load properly and that affected the front rotors and thus the calipers. He went here to Mud, found the specs and set them. No more brake issues! I figured somebody here must have had that happen or could use the info!

nto being tight enough will allow the rotor / hub to move to much pushing the pads back into the caliper so when you hit teh brake the first time you are not getting full grip then the second time if fast enough the pads are still out so then it causes it to stop normally.

rear shoes will give the same effect when not adjusted properly only braking coming from the front and not the rear in that case.
