Good morning - hope everyone had a good weekend.

I am nearly done with reconditioning my gas tank and need to order all the ancillaries now to install it. Looks like I need a sender unit (how full tank is), filler neck, and some venting and output lines.

This FJ came to me in pieces so I was hoping for some coaching on sourcing and where to reference schematics so I know what I need to order / install.

Thanks!

I’m just now going through my fuel system.

The sending unit, screws, gasket, clamps and gas cap are available from OEM parts dealer of your choice.

Gates makes a 90* fuel filler hose that needs to be trimmed to fit. Hoses can be sourced from local parts house.

Filler neck will need to be found used (mud classifieds) and restored or painted.

@Jdc1 - thanks for the fast response. I may be mislabeling the parts - I have the steel extension from the tank to where the filler opening is, but I do not have what looks to be the rubber piece that makes sure the fuel doesn't enter the interior of the truck.

I did find this diagram from SOR, which seems about as good as any...

Even easier, your rubber fill neck is straight. I use SORs diagrams but their prices and shipping are sometimes insane.

So just source the correct size hose from my local parts house and go from there - great. Thank you.

Looks like I have quite a bit of lines and venting to track down.

amazon has had good prices on the gates hoses. O’Reilly didn’t have the correct size (2 1/4???) that I needed.
