Fuel Reserve Range 4.2 Diesel 81

I posted this question in the JDM section but not a lot of traffic in there... anyone in Diesel Tech know what my approx. range should be on reserve?

I assume you mean how much fuel is left when the low fuel light comes on? If that's the case, mine goes on when I have about 25 litres of fuel left, perhaps slightly less. So your range in km is dependent of course on what kind of economy you're getting at the time, and it can vary quite a bit. I've heard of HDJ81's with the 1HDT consuming up to 18 l / 100 km in hard going off road, or even a bit more. One of my friends who had one as was doing some fully locked crawling up a mountain was at 20 l / 100 km, but that's the lowest I have ever heard of. Average for a 1HDT is somewhere in the range of 11-13 l / 100 km on road.

I can put together an estimate also but I'm curious what the factory owners manual spec's it at. Most owners manuals while useless, will tell you how many liters/gallons are left when on reserve..
