So, I pulled the non-working fuel pump from my 1980 FJ40 2F. I have a new OEM pump and spacer on the way. My question: will I need a gasket in addition to the spacer for the reinstall? If not, should I at minimum put gasket sealer on the spacer between the block and the spacer itself. Any other reinstall tips welcomed. Here’s a pic of my 40 (I know the forum appreciates knowing what we’re all working on).

I used the gasket(s?) with a very thin coat of sealer on both sides. It's been many years since I had to replace mine, but it never has leaked.

Did you get the pump?
I believe the last couple OEM pumps I bought had the gaskets. But not the spacer.

I thought the new spacers came with gaskets bonded to both sides of it.

I bought pump from Cruiser corps. Spacer was separate item. No gaskets.
