I am restoring a 65 fj45 and using a 79 drive train and 2f engine with desmogged carb, also using the 79 fuel pump with return line. My original gas tank has no provisions for a return gas line so I just plugged the return line on my 79 fuel pump, and hooked things up. Well seems like I'm getting way too much gas. Do I need to get an early fuel pump or is there something wrong with my carb?

I have a 79 motor in a 9/69 FJ40 hooked up in a similiar way. I'm guessing its an issue with your float in the carb. I just have my return capped at the Pump and it seems to work fine.

Why not use the earler fuel pump without the return line, and you don't have to mess around with the spacer thing a ma-jig ether :meh:
