To the torque gods:

Replacing my fuel pump with the insulator.

The '81-'87 2f repair manual (pg 6-2/6-3) does not give fuel pump mounting bolt torques (that I see anyway).

It does give standar torque values for bolts. I have to imagine that the insulator would not take full torque values.

Any quidance in the cruiser world (did a mud search but could not locate)?

Thanks in advance!

There is a supplement that has common torque values in one of the FSMs. Not sure which but remember seeing it recently. May try there or contact Kurt or JimC.

IIRC, the fuel pump bolt is a 8mm (with a 12mm hex).
9 ft-lbs Max.

Thanks for the guidance.

I actually forgot obout the torque cheat sheet in the permanent posting area. That says 13 f-lb.

Output shaft: was aware of those specs, but was a little nervous owing to the brittle plastic spacer block.

That being said, I couln't get my low value torque wrench in there anyway, so did it by feel. Hopefully it won't fall out:)

If you are looking at the highlighted section that is 13Nm (newton meters) or 9ft-lbs.

Just for posterity's sake, here is the torque spec for the 3F fuel pump mounting bolt.... 13 ft-lbs.

Yes, was probably seeing the 3fe (13 f-lb).

Anyho, because of my highly calibrated touch (that's an exageration), as well as super fine instrumentation (1/8 inch drive), I figure it's all lost in the noise. Just hope there is no over-torquage done.
