Hi all,

Quick question. I’ve got the interior of my 1996 FZJ80 removed including all of the seats, carpet, etc. Since I’ve got easy access to the fuel pump panel...should I proactively replace it? Or anything else while I’m in there? I’m not experiencing any issues at all and no indications it’s struggling.

Thanks!

Agree at minimum replace the filter sock on the pump. Replace the pump depending on your level of OCD and the size of your wallet.

My original pump is at 292K miles. I replaced the sock about 35K ago.

Original pump on mine with 310K

I believe the fuel pumps on these things are indestructible. If it was me I would change the sock and leave it alone but I am a broke college student. If money wasn't an issue I would change it.

Boom! Fantastic guys. If it ain’t broke...

I’ll take a peak, check filter and wires, then back she goes. Thank you.

If you disconnect the high pressure lines you'll need 2 new copper washers.

310k? how deep in Texas are you?

Deep enough.

'Deep East Texas'.......or (behind the pine curtain).

But anywhere in TEXAS is preferable to other States. ;)
