Hi all just wondering who has done a V8 conversion on their 70 series and what mileage they get with fuel consumption. Or even the consumption for a 70 series with standard 6 cyl engine?

My FJ73 has a Ford 302 Windsor 5ltr, 425 Holley carbureted conversion, extractors twin exaust system, ACCEL Electonic performance distributor, 5 speed manual, running 31.5x10x15 tyres.

With stop start driving I am only getting around -
3.75 kilometers per litre
10.5 miles per gallon.

I have the engine LPG converted and it is economical $$ in that sense but was curious on petrol mileage for comparison with my vehicle.

James ,Is 10.5 MPG on LPG or petrol? No too many of us have V8 conversions on our 7* series here. You might get a better response on outer limits or the 4wd monthly forums.

I was getting about 15-16 MPG on the old 3F . The 1HZ is getting about 21-22
