When I bought my 89 it lost fuel supply due to rust particles. after two pickup screens for the pump and dropping the tank twice, i left the pickup screen off and let the rust particle go directly to the filter. atefr it started sputtering the otehr day I removed a 5 pound rust filled fuel filter and replaced it, and the air filter. the truck runs great but stopped at traffic lights it sputters and dies. starts back up after a second like nothing is wrong. This is really frustrating please help.

Pull your tank and pressure wash it out. If the tank has sat for awhile you will go along ways toward clearing up your problems.
I do not know about your area but my local radiator shops work on gas tanks also........worth the calls to find out
