I have a 1978 fj40, and I'm looking at the fuel guage to see why it doesn't work, and the little wires in the back appear to have burned off, can I heat up the solder joints and jam them back in to make it work? also could somebody post a picture of the back of one to make sure I get them th the right spots.

Also am I correct in believing that one side of the guage is some crazy voltage regulator to make 7 volts?

Well you could try it. Here is the best pic I could come up wit. Does it even help?
