Hi group,

Wondering if anyone knows the difference in fuel economy as well as reliability between the diesel and the inline 6 for the 91/92 VX Cruiser?

On a vehicle with under 200k is there anything I need to look out for?

Also any idea on the cost and effort to add lockers to a center locked only ? Front and rear lockers.

Thanks,
Josh

There's a few threads over in the Diesel Section. Search is your friend. Between the 80 Series Newbies Guide in FAQ, searching on here and below, you should be well on your way.

DO NOT even contemplate a 3FE. There's a lot of differences besides the motor, semi-float rear axle being one.

ALOT. Most likely a roll-back. Oil in intake, white or excessive smoke on cold start, tranny temp color, clicking in reverse when turning etc, etc. Best to go with somone who knows the diesels or bring it to an expert for a pre-purchase inspection. $400 could save you $15k

E-lockers? ARB? Best to budget $4k CAD doing the work yourself....$6k CAD otherwise. But if you only occasionally wheel - lunchbox locker rear's fine with the Auto

Thanks,
Josh
