Hey Fellas,

I've gotten some good info here before, so I'm back with another problem. I've got a 78 FJ 40 that had a badly rusted tank. I had the tank boiled out and lined, and replaced the fuel lines and filter. Put the tank back in today, and the engine fired right up and ran great... for about 10 minutes. It died and refuses to refire. I looked in the sight glass on the carb, and can see that there's no fuel in there. I pulled the feeder line off and verified that fuel is coming out there, so I know it's not a fuel pump. I took the gas cap off and made sure it wasn't a venting issue. I considered that it might be a needle and seat, but I just rebuilt the carb about six months ago so I don't think that's the problem.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

BAM! That was the exact problem. Took the carb apart, discovered a bit of grit blocking the fuel inlet, and now she's purring like a high-dollar hooker. Thanks!
